Srilanka is smallest country when we compare the other recognized cricket countries but which is very popular in cricket life. Sri Lankan first cricket team played international cricket one day match in 1926, and later Test status awarded was provided in 1982, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket playing nation.
Sri Lanka's national cricket team achieved considerable success beginning in the 1990, and rising from underdog status to winning the Cricket World Cup in 1996 with the captain- ship arjina ranathunga, he was only one of winning captain until today also for fifty over's match.
since then srilankan cricket team continuously started their achievements and to be a force in international cricket against the other counties. after the winning captain as i said above, next in order the captain-ship such as sanath jayasooriya, mahela jayawardana, kumar sangakara likewise they had been producing their sucess until 2007 as well. there after they started lost their team power step by step. even in 2015 they have not reached their final in world cup.
i could understand their failure step by step after 2007. most of important players had got rest from their cricket life and resigned before their resting period. after mahela jayawardana and kumar sangakara's resting, team has been exposed the management failure also.
hereafter sri lanka ICC should analyse the well organizing regarding management and provide the powerful younger players.
